Former AS Roma manager, Jose Mourinho, might soon become the coach of Bright Osayi at Fenerbahce SK as talks of a potential deal are brewing for the Portuguese coach.

After leaving his role as the manager of AS Roma, Mourinho has been without a team. However, there have been rumors linking him to coaching clubs in Saudi Arabia and elsewhere.

Recent reports in Turkish media have sparked discussions about Mourinho’s possible move to Fenerbahce. Aziz Yıldırım, a candidate for Fenerbahce’s Presidency, has reportedly mentioned appointing Mourinho if elected.

If Mourinho joins Fenerbahce, it would be reminiscent of his time coaching Mikel Obi, a former Super Eagles player, during his tenure at Chelsea. Now, Mourinho might take on the task of mentoring Osayi-Samuel, who currently plays for Fenerbahce.

Osayi-Samuel, a versatile right wing-back for both Fenerbahçe and the Super Eagles, has attracted interest from three Premier League clubs: Crystal Palace, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Leeds United.

Valued at around ten million euros, Osayi-Samuel’s performance in AFCON 2023 has made him a sought-after talent. Crystal Palace, in particular, is keen on acquiring him and potentially pairing him with another Nigerian player, Eberechi Eze.

Despite competition from clubs outside England, Crystal Palace is determined to include Osayi-Samuel in their long-term plans.

As Osayi-Samuel’s contract with Fenerbahce has only one year left, the club is reportedly working on extending it. They plan to increase his current annual salary of 600,000 euros and add a three-year extension beyond his current deal, which expires in June 2025.

This move aims to acknowledge Osayi-Samuel’s contributions and dissuade other clubs from trying to sign him.

According to reports, Aziz Yıldırım has met with Mourinho, sparking hope among Fenerbahce fans of potential victories under Mourinho’s leadership. If Mourinho joins Fenerbahce, Osayi-Samuel would have the opportunity to be mentored by him, similar to Mikel Obi’s experience.
